The Bakery

Sheridan Ave Bakery is a home-based micro-bakery located in the Fulton neighborhood in southwest Minneapolis.

Each Friday we bake a selection of breads and pastries, both naturally leavened (sourdough culture) and yeasted. You can see our current menu here. Once each week’s menu is posted, you’re welcome to pre-order any of the items for pick-up on Friday. Doors are open from 4pm - 6pm. Quantities are limited so it’s best to order in advance.

The majority of the bread is made with an artisan bread flour blend from Bay State Milling with specialty flours for our whole wheat breads being freshly milled from heritage and antique grains (Red Fife, Turkey Red, Spelt, Kamut, Einkorn). Our whole grain flour is from Baker’s Field milling right here in Minneapolis.

The bakery has a Minneapolis cottage food license and is registered with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. All of our breads and other baked goods are handmade in a home kitchen, so these products are not subject to state inspection.

The Baker

Recently retired from a career in IT and inspired by a baking class he took in Paris, Steve Robb began milling heritage grains and baking artisanal breads at home beginning in 2017.

What began as a hobby quickly turned into a creative passion, and in 2019 Steve opened the doors to his neighborhood micro-bakery - Sheridan Ave Bakery.

Bakers have been baking bread for thousands of years, providing for their local communities, and Steve is thrilled to be a part of that tradition.

A competitive sailor and occasional clock maker, he considers himself lucky to be supported in all of these endeavors by his wonderful wife and their two dogs.
